My Real Techniques Brushes

I have been a huge fan of real technique brushes ever since i brought my first set of their eye shadow brushes nearly 2 years ago. The brand 'Real Techniques' is an amazing line by Sam and Nic Chapman, also known as 'pixiwoo' on youtube. I have loved their youtube channel for a long time and thats what inspired me to try out their brushes.
One of the sets i own is their 'Starter Set' which includes a base shadow brush ( great for travelling if you need an all round eye brush ) a deluxe crease brush ( quite dense, good for packing on colour ) an accent brush ( good for smudging eyeliner or even for lipstick application ) a fine liner brush ( fab for applying gel eyeliner or again lipstick ) and a brow brush ( quite thick which is great for quick and easy eyebrow filling! )
I also own their 'Core Collection' set which includes a detailer brush ( good to use with concealer to clean up any small mistakes ) a pointed foundation brush ( i like to use this with concealer again as I've found it pats it in really nicely ) a buffing brush ( gives a full, even coverage of any type of foundation ) and a contour brush ( fits really nicely under the cheek bones to contour and i also like setting my under eye area with this brush.)
Both of these sets come with a brush case which also acts as a brush stand and is really good for travelling or even if your just going to your friends for a sleepover. And they both cost £21.99 which i think is amazing for the quality and quantity of the brushes you get. They are all so soft and do not loose this softness when i wash them.
The last brush i own is their Stippling brush which cost £11.99. I also love this brush for a natural finish with my foundation. It also pairs really well with the buffing brush to give a medium coverage. It is slightly pricier in my opinion but I'm sure you can search on ebay or websites like ebay to find any cheaper options.
In the future i really want to invest in some more of these brushes, and i highly recommend them to you, especially if you are just starting off with makeup and are looking for good quality brushes that aren't too expensive. They are widely available on the Real Techniques website, you can find them in boots in the uk and i think they are available in target in america (sorry if I'm wrong about that!)
I hope you enjoyed this post and please follow me if you haven't already for more posts in the future :)

Make Up Haul | 1

Recently I watched a video on youtube by 'shaanxo' who created an amazing blue ombre eyeliner look. This inspired me to have a go at it my self, however there were 2 problems. One being I don't own any blue eyeliner, and two, it is hard to find 4 different shades of blue eyeliner in your average high street store. So to resolve these problems, my friend introduced me to an amazingly cheap website which has all kinds of things on it.
This website is called http://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk. I know what you may think, "thats just a perfume store surly?" which is what i thought two, however it has a reasonably wide range of all kinds of beauty products, and the majority of them are discounted at all different prices!
Finally, to get on with my haul, here is a list of all the products i purchased:

  • Astor Perfect Stay 24 Hour Eye Pencil (Deep Purple)
  • Astor Perfect Stay 24 Hour Eye Pencil (Intense Blue)
  • Essie Nail Polish (All Tied Up)
  • Manhattan Pastell Pretties Eye Pencil (Heart of Grass)
  • NYC Automatic Lipliner Pencil (Naughty Nude)
  • NYC Showtime Glitter Eyeliner (Starry Blue Sky)
  • Prestige Cosmetics Eyeshadow Sweep Brush
  • Prestige Cosmetics Powder Brush
  • Technic Highlighter & Blemish Correcter (Natural)
Hope you enjoyed todays blog post and don't forget to checkout https://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk :)
Q: What's your favourite way to add a pop of colour to a makeup look?

Classic Red Lip and Pinup Eyeliner Look

Hey guys! Today i wanted too share with you a classic, sophisticated makeup look as i have recently purchased Maybelline's colour sensational lipstick in 'Neon Red' and i absolutely love it. This look would be perfect for work or any 'sophisticated' event you may be going to. You can even wear it as an everyday look, it is so versatile. I paired it with a low bun as i felt that fit best with the classic theme.
As you can see, I used L'oreal Nude Magique Foundation on my skin, with the maybelline fit me concealer to cover any blemishes/ under eye circles a bit better. On the eyes i lightly dusted W.O.S from the Naked Basics palette all over the lid and in my crease used a bit of the colour Naked 2. I also used Collections Felt Tip Eyeliner, which i love, to create a basic pinup style wing and on my lashes used Benefit's They're Real! Mascara. Finally, on the lips i used Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick lipstick in 'Neon Red.'
I hope you enjoyed this blog! What's your favourite red lipstick? Comment down below :)

Alex Box Inspired

Hello!
This is my first post on this blog and i would quickly like to say, welcome. I will hopefully be posting on here on sundays, tuesdays, wednesdays and fridays however things might change as i get use to blogging.
For my first blog i thought i would show you a project i did for art, which was experimenting with face paints, using Alex Box as my inspiration. I think Box's work is incredible and truly proves how makeup can be such a beautiful form of art. I chose to copy one of her darker pieces as i thought it would be fun to play with heavy contouring and have such a big contrast in colours on my palette. The person i worked on was my friend Becca, who has a blog ' Bxbeccaa ' so please check her out if you would like too. The first picture is Box's piece and the following three are my interpretations.
Thanks for reading and i hope you enjoy what this blog has to come.
